Counseling Philosophy
As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, I believe therapy works best when it feels like a true
partnership. I practice from a Collaborative Therapy framework, valuing open dialogue,
curiosity, and respect—working alongside clients to create space for new perspectives and
possibilities.
I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families across all stages of life. My areas of
clinical interest include supporting clients through anxiety, depression, adjusting to life changes,
intergenerational challenges, navigating the different stages of parenthood, perinatal mental
health, family dynamics, building a strong couples relationship, and addressing the impact of
eating disorders. My approach is grounded in systemic thinking, with a focus on how
relationships, family dynamics, and life experiences collectively shape overall well-being.
Above all, I strive to provide a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where clients feel
safe, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change.
Outside of my work as a therapist, I am married and a mother to a free-spirited toddler. I enjoy
spending time with my family, traveling, and trying new foods. I am fluent in English and
Urdu/Hindi.
