Qualifications and Experience

I have a Master in Counseling from Argosy University Chicago. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 6 years of experience.   I am Trained in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Counseling Philosophy

Guiding people through difficult times is a virtue of therapy that drew me to this profession. As a counselor, I want to help you to overcome challenges and become the person you hope to become. I use a client-centered, strength-based approach when working with clients. I believe all people have inner strengths, wisdom, and resources, and I want to help you achieve your goals and build connections.

I draw from a variety of approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy EFCT), and Mindfulness. I am passionate about navigating your way through self-discovery, personal relationships, and finding resilience within yourself. I have worked extensively in various settings, including domestic violence shelter, community agencies, and with people of multicultural backgrounds. I speak English and Arabic fluently.

My specialties are anxiety, depression, self-esteem, bipolar disorder, Divorce, Domestic Abuse, Domestic Violence, grief, infidelity, women’s issues, relationship issues, racial identity, family relations, parenting, spirituality, stress, anger management.
