Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right therapist?
It can feel overwhelming to find the therapist that meets your needs. While looking for a therapist consider some of these things to help find the right therapist.
Consider your goals for therapy – what do you want to accomplish – and choose a therapist that has expertise and experience to help you. Decide if you want in-person or telehealth appointments. Know your budget and/or insurance and see if the therapist accepts your insurance or offers a sliding-scale.
A good therapist will help you clarify your goals and work towards them in therapy. Overtime, they will help you gain skills and confidence to help you cope with life challenges.
Do you accept my insurance?
At Inner Peace Therapies, we are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Multiplan, although participation varies for different therapists. If we are out-of-network with your insurance company, you will pay Inner Peace Therapies directly at the time of your appointment. We will provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement directly to you.
Do you offer self-pay options?
Yes, we offer self-pay options for clients. Under the “No Surprise Act”, we will provide an estimation of costs of service before your appointment. If you have financial hardships, we may offer sliding scale options. Please contact us for more information.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775.
Can I have free consultation?
At Inner Peace Therapies, we offer an initial free 15-minute phone consult. During this consultation, we will discuss your goals and expectations for therapy and connect you with the right therapist for you.
Do you offer telehealth/virtual/online appointments?
Our therapists offer both in-person and telehealth appointments. Telehealth allows you to access therapy from your home. Some people prefer online appointments since it eliminates any barriers such as transportation costs or scheduling flexibility. Telehealth can be used for individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy. We use HIPPA-compliant Platforms to ensure confidentiality. Telehealth is covered by most insurance companies.
